What is the BCFE Class ?

The Basic Computer Forensic Examiner (BCFE) Training Program - the cornerstone training provided by IACIS - is a 76-hour course of instruction that is offered over 2 consecutive weeks and is designed to provide students with a foundational knowledge of Computer Forensics to be able to enter into the IACIS Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE) certification process.

Foundational Training in Computer Forensics

IACIS offers the Basic Computer Forensic Examiner (BCFE) Training Program, a 76-hour course conducted over two weeks. This program provides a balanced mix of lectures, practical exercises, and independent lab work to equip participants with essential forensic skills. Designed to prepare students for the Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE) certification, the BCFE program is ideal for anyone looking to build or enhance their expertise in digital forensics.

A Tailored Approach for All Skill Levels

Despite its name, the BCFE program is far more advanced than basic training. While it is ideal for beginners, it equally benefits experienced practitioners by emphasizing forensic tool neutrality and independent methodologies. Participants are expected to have a basic understanding of the Windows Operating System, including familiarity with terms like "registry" and "hidden files." This fast-paced training equips students with 90% of the knowledge required for successful completion, with additional independent research recommended for the CFCE certification process.
